Barn Declared Total Loss After Fire In Nowthen

NOWTHEN, Minn. (WCCO) - A barn in Nowthen has been declared a total loss after a fire on Friday evening.

According to the Nowthen Fire Department, the fire started around 6:10 p.m., and crews were at the scene for three to four hours.

No firefighters were injured, but the fire chief believed a small portion of the livestock was lost.

There was propane and other flammable items inside, and it was difficult to put out due to the wind and cold, the department said.

Nowthen is located roughly 40 miles north of Minneapolis.
