Backlash Against 'Mallrats' Choice For Most Iconic Minn. Movie

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Call it, #GrapeGate light.

On Wednesday, I told you about Mashable, the website that named the most iconic movies shot in each state.

And for Minnesota, they picked the 1995 comedy, Mallrats.

Well, negative reaction came faster than you could say Chasing Amy.

Local social media blew up, asking: "What about Purple Rain?"

Or, the movie that brought Lindsay Lohan to town, Prairie Home Companion?

There's also The Mighty Ducks, A Simple Plan, Beautiful Girls, A Serious Man, Grumpy Old Men, Jingle All the Way, or Drop Dead Gorgeous.
