Baby Animals Take Over The Minnesota Zoo!

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Fall is the best time to visit the zoo in Minnesota.

That's because this is when there's a baby boom!

But just like all babies, there's nap time.

Take a peek at the wolf pups, lynx kittens and porcupette that are now at the Minnesota Zoo.

"In Minnesota we are really fortunate to have diverse wildlife, and as a result because of our climates sometimes the babies we have born earlier in the year they need a little bit of time to grow before they're able to be on exhibit," zoo keeper, Adam Keniger, said.

Keniger, the Zoo Keeper, says the best time to visit the zoo is right away in the morning, around 9:30 a.m.

"So we've got wolves, we've got baby lynx, we've got baby porcupines, which are called porcupettes and we have a baby beaver as well," Keniger said.

That's when the babies are really rambunctious.

We have great news for parents.

Saturday, your babies can see the babies for free from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It's part of Museum Day Live at the Zoo.

Each adult ticket gets a child in for free.
