Authorities: St. Paul Man Arrested In Wis. For Driving Drunk With 2 Small Kids

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 35-year-old St. Paul man has been arrested in Wisconsin's Dunn County after he allegedly drove drunk with two young children in his vehicle, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper stopped a 2002 Pontiac on westbound Interstate 94 near mile marker 46 in Dunn County for unsafe land deviation.

When the trooper encountered the driver, the odor of an intoxicating beverage was detected and a field sobriety test led the trooper to believe the driver was operating under the influence of an intoxicant, authorities said.

There were also two children, ages 2 and 3, inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Mileo Murphy, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence – his third offense – and operating with no valid driver's license. He was then taken to the Dunn County Jail.

The children were left in the care of other adults who were in the vehicle.
