Authorities Seek Suspect In Northern MN Cemetery Vandalism

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in northern Minnesota are looking for a suspect after as many as a dozen granite markers and a cross at a cemetery were vandalized in late August.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said it received a report of vandalism at the Schram Cemetery in rural Vergas, which is just south of Detroit Lakes, on Aug. 20. An investigation showed a suspect had tipped over as many as 12 granite grave markers as well as a wooden cross.

There is no information on a suspect at this time, but the sheriff's office is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible. Anyone with information should call the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office at (218) 998-8555.
