Authorities Investigating Northfield Drugging Incident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Rice County Sheriff's Office is investigating an alleged Northfield drugging incident earlier this month.

On July 23, the sheriff's office was notified about a woman who was drugged by Rohypnol – also known as a roofie – at a gathering on July 16.

The incident happened at the Red Barn Farm of Northfield during a large get-together.

After the victim left a drink unattended for a short time, she started showing signs of what was later revealed to be severe drug intoxication. She was taken to a local hospital and transferred to a Rochester hospital for further treatment.

Medical tests later confirmed the presence of Rohypnol in her system.

The sheriff's office says there is no evidence to suggest any type of physical assault at this time.

Anyone with information about the case should contact the sheriff's office Investigations Division at 1-507-334-4391 or use the Tip411 information here to report it anonymously.
