MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The hunter missing from Crow Wing County was found safe Thursday morning.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office began searching Wednesday evening for a 76-year-old man who went hunting with his dog near Garrison Wednesday and never came home.

Authorities received a report about the missing hunter at about 8:46 p.m. The man left his home at about 3:30 p.m. and was supposed to be home for dinner. He was hunting in a wooded area south of Garrison.

Authorities said his truck was located on a trail west of County Road 138, near a small lake where he was known to go duck hunting.

Huff and his dog turned up Thursday morning.

Huff told authorities that he became disoriented while hunting and lost his way. As he was unsure of his whereabouts he decided to camp out overnight and try to find his way in the morning.
