Sheriff: 2 Officers Shot At New Hope City Hall

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two police officers are recovering Monday night after being shot at New Hope City Hall, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

The New Hope City Council started its meeting at about 7 p.m. Monday with two police officers being sworn in. Authorities said at about 7:15 p.m., as officers were leaving the meeting, an adult man engaged them and opened fire on them.

The two officers were hit, and other police with them opened fire on the suspect, killing him.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said both officers that were shot are in good condition and expected to be OK. Authorities said they are not looking for any other suspects in the incident.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said the incident is under investigation, and they are hoping to have more information on Tuesday.
