Authorities ID Father, Son Killed In Scott County Farming Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities have identified a father and son from Jordan who died when they were electrocuted Sunday in an apparent farming accident.

It happened at around 10 a.m. Sunday in Sand Creek Township on a family farm along Xanadu Avenue. The Scott County Sheriff's Office says the men were lifting a large piece of farming equipment when the wind blew part of it into a power line.

Another family member later found them unresponsive. The father was pronounced dead at the scene, while the son was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the father as 53-year-old Mark Edmund Hentges and the son as 25-year-old Travis Michael Hentges. Both died of apparent electrocution.
