At Least 4 Escape Brooklyn Center Duplex Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said at least four people escaped from a duplex fire, a dog was badly burned and another dog is missing in Brooklyn Center early Wednesday morning.

Crews responded to the 7200 block of West River Road at about 2:30 a.m. on a report of a fire. When authorities arrived, flames were showing from the second floor of the duplex. At least four people were able to get out of the residence safely, but a dog had to be taken to the veterinarian with severe burns.

Fire officials said one of the people who escaped was taken to the hospital. Authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and they are looking into if it being suspicious.
