At Least 3 Hospitalized Following 2 Crashes In Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – At least three people were hospitalized overnight following two crashes in Minneapolis where alcohol appeared to be involved.

One crash happened around 1 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Lyndale Avenue and 42nd Street. Officials say a car hit an electrical pole and went through a fence.

The crash knocked out power for several area homes, and two people were taken to the hospital.

Police say the driver involved was booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on probable cause DWI.

The night's other crash happened about an hour later near the intersection of Lake Street and 11th Avenue.

Police say officers had been pursuing an alleged drunk driver when the suspect crashed into another car. The suspect tried to run off, but was arrested shortly after.

The driver of the car that was hit was brought to Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating that crash.
