Man Dies In Shooting In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say one person is dead following a shooting Thursday evening in North Minneapolis.

According to the police department, the shooting happened on the 1600 block of Russell Avenue North at about 6:40 p.m. Those who called 911 reported multiple gunshots and a white SUV speeding from the area and later crashing.

At the scene of the crash, police found a man in the driver's seat suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews brought him to North Memorial Medical Center, where he later died.

The victim's name has yet to be released.

Police are investigating the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made.
