At Augsburg, Bill Nye Talks How Science Can Save The World

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – On Saturday night, families in the Twin Cities shared their love of science with one of pop culture's most recognized scientists.

Bill Nye "The Science Guy" spoke to a packed house at Augsburg College.

He talked about climate change and environmental awareness. His lecture was titled "How Science Can Save The World."

Most of the attendees were middle and high school students, many of whom wore Nye's signature look: a bow tie.

"I'm planning on going into science, and his science shows are always entertaining and educational," said one young person sporting a bow tie. "It helps me to watch those."

Nye's show won 18 Emmy Awards.

He's now the CEO of The Planetary Society, a non-governmental space interest organization.

He travels the globe, hosting lectures like the one at Augsburg.
