ASPIRE Athlete Of The Week For Feb. 14, 2014

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- He can score, and he can create. That's why Bloomington Jefferson hockey player Johnny Panvica is our Athlete of the Week.

He's got a knack for scoring goals, it's part of his offensive mind set.

"Since I've been young, I've always scored some goals," Panvica said. "It's nice to do that my senior year and make some good memories with Jefferson."

Not only does he create space for himself to score, Panvica can also hit the open man, according to Bloomington Jefferson head coach Jeff Lindquist.

Panvica's role model is a member of the Wild and the U.S. Olympic team – Zach Parise.

"He works every single shift, and I think that's what most hockey players aspire to do," Panvica said.

That hard-working mentality is something Lindquist sees in Panvica.

"Puts a lot of dedication into his hockey and into his studies," the coach said. "So, I would say, he's a good kid."
