Asphalt Truck Rollover Crash Snarls Traffic On Hwy 169

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Traffic is crawling on Highway 169 after an asphalt truck rolled over near the I-94 exit.

An official in the Department of Public Safety says the accident happened around 1:14 p.m. Friday when the truck hit the guardrail and spilled asphalt on the highway as it rolled over.

The driver sustained a non-life-threatening leg injury and was taken to North Memorial Hospital.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says that they, along with the company hired to transport the asphalt, are in the process of cleaning it up, and hope to clear the road soon. In the meantime, only the left lane is open on Highway 169 in that area.
