As 2014 Begins, Gas Prices Higher In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- In the new year, Minnesota drivers are paying more at the pumps than a year ago.

The average price statewide is $3.24 a gallon. That compares to $3.07 this time last year.

Over the last year, prices skyrocketed up to a statewide average high of $3.96 in May.

Oil ended the year at $98 a barrel, which is down from over $100 late last week.

Analysts say a stronger dollar has been helping to keep a cap on oil prices.
