Nebraska QB Armstrong Returns To Game Vs. Gophers After Injury

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Tommy Armstrong Jr. has returned to No. 21 Nebraska's game against Minnesota after injuring his left ankle in the third quarter.

Armstrong, who started Saturday night after getting knocked unconscious against Ohio State last week, injured the ankle on a quarterback sneak and was helped off the field by athletic trainers. Ryker Fyfe replaced Armstrong for three plays with the scored tied 17-all.

Armstrong had his ankle taped on the sideline and returned for the Huskers' next series, early in the fourth quarter.

Armstrong was put through a concussion protocol this week and practiced Thursday.
