Patrol: Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SUV In Farmington

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 38-year-old woman died Saturday evening after being hit by an SUV while crossing a street in the south metro.

The State Patrol says the fatal crash happened around 7:20 p.m. on Highway 3 in Farmington, which is about 30 miles south of Minneapolis.

April Sterling, of Farmington, was pronounced dead at the scene. She had tried to cross the highway at 209th Street and was struck by a northbound SUV.

There is no crosswalk at the intersection.

Neither the driver of the SUV nor its passenger were injured.

Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash.
