Apple Valley Man Charged With Drug Possession In Wyoming

WHEATLAND, Wyo. (AP) — State troopers seized about 41 pounds of marijuana while investigating a two-vehicle crash north of Wheatland.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 57-year-old Kraig Kahrs, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, lost control of his vehicle on snow and ice on Interstate 25 and rear-ended a pickup truck on Wednesday morning.

Troopers investigating the crash say they followed foot tracks in the snow and found multiple large trash bags in a nearby ditch. A search of the bags and Kahrs vehicle turned up vacuum sealed plastic packages of marijuana.

Kahrs was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Investigators believe the pot was being delivered to Minnesota.
