Anoka Man Allegedly Stabs Boy With Samurai Sword

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An Anoka man accused of stabbing a boy with a samurai sword was charged with two counts of assault Thursday morning.

Nicholas Lee Curtis, 24, was charged with first degree assault and second degree assault Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint, Curtis saw two kids in a car outside of his house Tuesday evening. He then grabbed a samurai sword, ran outside toward the car and began stabbing the sword through the window.

The complaint states that Curtis believed he was stabbing someone through the window.

The victim said he and his friends were outside Curtis' house toilet-papering it when Curtis came out with the sword.

The boy sustained a gash to his palm, a gash to forearm and puncture wounds near his ribs, lower back and middle back.

He was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery for the wounds.

Curtis' next court appearance will be Sept. 24.
