Anoka-Hennepin Teachers Schedule April 17 Strike Vote

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A strike vote has been set by the teachers' union in the Minnesota's largest school district.

Teachers from the Anoka-Hennepin school district will vote on April 17 on whether or not to strike. The vote will take place at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Negotiators from both sides have met 16 times over the past nine months without coming to a contract agreement.

About 80 members represented the teachers in a vote Monday to decide if they'll actually take a strike vote.

Key issues on the table include health insurance, compensation and a district proposal to change the salary schedule to target young teachers.
