Annual Traveling Music Showcase To Kick Off In Northfield

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (AP) — An annual Minnesota traveling music showcase is scheduled to kick off in Northfield.

The Minnesota Music Coalition says the fifth annual Caravan du Nord will kick off Oct. 3, in partnership with Carleton College.

The caravan brings a day of music programming to six communities in Greater Minnesota. The Northfield stop will include free music workshops, classroom performances and an evening concert by indie-pop bands Solid Gold and Van Stee, with an opening set by Northfield singer-songwriter Helen Forsythe.

The afternoon workshops and social hour are free, but tickets to the concert are $10.

Other stops are planned in Red Wing, Ely, Faribault, Austin and Detroit Lakes.
