Airport Foundation Launches Animal Ambassador Program At MSP

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A new program at the airport is hoping dogs can take some of the stress out of traveling.

The Airport Foundation launched the Animal Ambassador Program Thursday. The program lets travelers play with dogs to ease stress.

Other large airports have similar programs, but MSP is the only one that will have petting stations.

The foundation believes the stations are easier for people to find and better for those who suffer from allergies.

The pet therapy teams are specially trained and will always ask before letting a dog approach someone.

North Star Therapy Animals says they are among the groups participating in the program. For more information on joining a therapy team or volunteering with them, click here.
