Amy Senser Granted Early Release From Prison

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- State officials say Amy Senser, who's serving time for a fatal hit and run, will be released nearly six months early from prison.

The Department of Corrections says Senser applied for a transfer to a jail or halfway house for work release, and it was approved.

Senser is the wife of former Minnesota Vikings player Joe Senser. She was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide in the 2011 death of 38-year-old Anousone Phanthavong.

He was hit while refilling his gas tank on an Interstate 94 exit ramp in Minneapolis.

The Department of Corrections lists Senser's prison release date as April 24.
