Amid Warm Temps, Golf Courses In Maple Plain & Oakdale Reopen

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's been a brown winter so far, but the silver lining is that things are looking green for golfers this week.

Pioneer Creek Golf Course in Maple Plain announced they would be reopening at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Oak Marsh in Oakdale is also reopening at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Pioneer Creek had initially closed for the season a few weeks ago when the ground frosted over, but they said since the weather has been so delightful, their groundskeepers gave them the go-ahead to reopen.

They said they weren't positive this was the very latest in the season they were open for business, but it certainly was in the neighborhood.

They aren't accepting reservations for tee times, but will instead hold a 11 a.m. shotgun every day until Thursday.

Autumn golf rates apply.

Oak Marsh will have a 11:30 a.m. shotgun start on Wednesday. It's already sold out with 120 players.
