'American Idol' Opens Auditions In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Attention, would-be music stars. "American Idol" is opening auditions for its new season in Minneapolis.

The FOX singing contest show is holding nationwide auditions for its 14th season. Auditions will be held Wednesday at Mariucci Arena at the University of Minnesota. Host Ryan Seacrest is schedule to attend.

Men and women who are 15 to 28 years old as of June 1, 2014, and eligible to work in the United States, may audition. Wristbands will be distributed starting at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Those auditioning will not be allowed to camp out and may not line up before 6 a.m. People will be told to enter the arena soon after receiving their wristbands.

The last time "American Idol" held auditions in Minneapolis was in 2006.
