American Cancer Society Young Professionals Host 70s-Themed Benefit

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Warm up on this cold winter night with a trip to Studio 54!

The American Cancer Society Young Professionals are at it again, hoping to knock out cancer by raising money and awareness.

Saturday night the group is throwing the "Finding A CURE Gala," inspired by Studio 54 -- the epic 1970s New York City disco.

"It's a great opportunity to come out, support a great cause, get your dance on and mingle with other young professionals in the Twin Cities. We've got games, blackjack tables, silent and live autions, costume contest, so there's something for everybody," co-chair Amy Covington said.

The ACS Young Professionals' "Finding a CURE Gala, an Evening at Studio 54" is Thursday at the Muse Event Center in the North Loop of Minneapolis.

It starts at 8 p.m. and costs $85.

That includes appetizers, desserts, beer and wine.

Guest are encouraged to dress in last 1970s and early 1980s clothing.
