Almost 5M Mazda Vehicles Recalled Due To Ignition Switch Issue

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Mazda is recalling nearly five million of its older vehicles.

The recall is due to an issue with the ignition switch. The company said the switch could overheat and catch fire.

The recall covers a number of different models made between 1990 and 1998.

Mazda said it put too much grease on the switches during construction.

The company said the problem doesn't affect the cars' operation or safety devices.
