Alleys Offer Free Bowling This Summer For Kids

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Looking for a way to keep your kids occupied this summer that's free? One option out there is to hit the bowling alley.

The program, called "Kids Bowl Free," is just that. Take you children to a local bowling alley, they can bowl for free and do something fun that also keeps them out of trouble as we approach the carefree days of summer. Now through Labor Day, kids can bowl two games per day for free at participating bowling alleys in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

It's part of a nationwide program that already has five million kids registered. The owners at Sun Ray Lanes in St. Paul, one of the local alleys involved, said it's a way to give back to the community. It's a good option for an indoor activity during the summer when it's raining or too hot to be outside.

Sun Ray Lanes in St. Paul has about 3,0000 kids currently signed up for the "Kids Bowl Free" program. All you have to do to be eligible for the program is register on the Kids Bowl Free web site. There's also a list of participating alleys there. Each bowling alley sets its age limit, so you'll want to call the alley to find that out before registering.
