Alleged DJ Stalker's Attorney Requests Trial Postponement

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A public radio host in Minnesota has taken a leave of absence as her accused stalker heads to trial on felony charges.

Mary Lucia is a host of Minnesota Public Radio's The Current.

Fifty-six-year-old Patrick Kelly is scheduled to go on trial Tuesday in Hennepin County on a stalking charge. Kelly's attorney, Arthur Martinez, says he will ask the judge to postpone the trial because of the timing of Lucia's announcement Wednesday that she was taking a leave.

Prosecutors say Kelly sent unwanted communications and gifts to Kelly beginning in 2014 and has even showed up at her doorstep. A restraining order against Kelly was granted in Ramsey County.

Martinez says Kelly has not violated any order imposed by the court.
