Sheriff: Man Struck & Killed By Truck In Albert Lea; 1 Arrested

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was struck and killed by a truck inside an Albert Lea pasture.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were dispatch on Saturday at 9:10 p.m. to 23595 890 Ave. on a report of an unresponsive male victim who had been struck by a vehicle.

Authorities say 30-year-old Alex Dylan Tapp of Austin, Minnesota, was attending a social gathering in a pasture behind the residence when he struck by a 2000 Chevy Suburban.

When deputies arrived, they continued CPR on the victim, which had already been started by witnesses. CPR continued for some time before being called off by medical personnel. Tapp was then pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

A man, identified as 26-year-old Nathan Paul Brooks of Austin, was arrested and charged with criminal vehicular homicide.
