Albert Lea House Fire Injures 2

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A house fire in Albert Lea sent two people to the hospital Friday morning, according to the city's fire department.

Fire officials say the structure fire at 80 Bridge Avenue was reported at 10:34 a.m.

The fire was unusual, officials say, because there were two houses on the same property and the house with the fire was located on the back side of the property with limited access.

However, fire officials say the fire was extinguished very quickly and damage to the structure and contents were kept to a minimum: $26,000 in damage.

A tenant who was home at the time and a neighbor who helped getting the tenant out were taken to the hospital. The neighbor received minor smoke inhalation and was taken as a precaution. Both of their conditions are unknown.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
