Missing 12-Year-Old Girl Rescued From Marsh In Scandia

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 12-year-old girl was located Tuesday evening after going missing for hours in Scandia.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said the girl had reportedly "walked off into the woods in her back yard" and hadn't returned after an hour.

Several agencies were activated to help search for her, including a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter. The girl was found stuck in a marshy area a few hours later by a nearby resident who had gotten a CodeRed notification. She was checked out by first responders before being reunited with her family.
