Update: Air Quality Improves For Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- WCCO's Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says air quality is improving in Minneapolis after air pollution levels spiked in the morning.
According to Augustyniak, the poor air quality was due to smoke and pollution associated with fires. It brought moderately poor air.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m., Augustyniak issued an update on air quality, saying the smoke is mixing out and pollution levels are dropping.
UPDATE: 8am @MnPCA readings show the smoke mixing out, and pollution levels dropping.

The culprit for trapping the smoke -- an atmospheric inversion. Common under high pressure, at night. https://t.co/5BHgtfS7Hq
