After Warm Weekend, Snowstorm Shaping Up For Tuesday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After a warm weekend in which highs on Saturday might climb near 40, a significant snowstorm may be in store for early next week.

WCCO-TV Meteorologist Matt Brickman says a storm is tracking toward the Twin Cities and is expected to hit on Tuesday.

"Potentially plowable snow," he said. "So we'll be keeping a close eye on that."

The National Weather Service says that early next week the storm system will move up from the Great Plains and into the Upper Midwest.

The storm could affect the Iowa caucus, which is slated for Monday.

In Minnesota, snow looks to fall in the southeastern part of the state, including the Twin Cities metro.

Heavy snow is possible, the National Weather Service says, but it's too far out to list predictions.
