After Life-Saving Surgery, Linwood Teen Heads Home With Firetruck Escort

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's not too often a teenager would look forward to an escort home by fire fighters, but that was not the case Saturday.

Donovan Bohn underwent a complicated surgery on Monday to correct a severe curvature in his spine. The surgery was a huge success and Donovan got to go home.

But it was far from a typical departure from the hospital.

His hometown fire department in Linwood Township heard his story and gave him a ride home in style. They brought their big red fire engine to Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul to bring him home.

Donovan's family said they were honored by the gesture.
