Adrian Peterson 'Uneasy' About Return To Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Vikings star running back now says he's "uneasy" about returning to the team.

In an interview with ESPN Thursday night, Adrian Peterson says the team "ambushed him." He said he now questions how much support he has from the Vikings after he felt the team worked with the NFL to put him on the commissioner's exempt list.

He said, quote: "It shows you can have all the loyalty toward someone ... but when things really shift and it's you or the empire, they're gonna put you out on a leash."

Peterson added that if he left the decision up to his wife he would not be returning to Minnesota.

Peterson's comments come just one day after Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said he expects Peterson to play for the team next season.

Peterson is suspended until at least April 14 after he pleaded no contest in Texas to hitting his 4-year-old son with a switch.
