ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) — Actress Kuoth Wiel will host a red carpet screening of the movie "The Good Lie" Tuesday in St. Louis Park.

Wiel makes her screen debut in the movie about Sudanese refugees resettling in Kansas. Best Actress Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon stars alongside Sudanese actors.

Wiel was born to Sudanese parents who fled war-torn Sudan to a refugee camp in Ethiopia. In 1998 she immigrated to Minnesota and lived in Faribault for much of her childhood.

Wiel landed her role in "The Good Lie" during her senior year at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. She will introduce the film at Kerasotes Showplace ICON theater Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
