Terry Lee Brockman, 57, was travelling westbound before the crash, which happened at about 12:30 p.m. The state patrol says he drove his SUV through a crossing gate before being struck by a southbound train.

Brockman is now in St. Cloud Hospital. Officials say that he does not have any life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says Highway 24 between Highway 10 and State Street was temporarily closed, but had reopened as of 2:30 p.m.
