Woman, 93, Dies After Being Hit By Truck

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 93-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a pickup truck while walking Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday on the 9000 block of Preserve Trail in Savage, according to the Savage Police Department. Officers responded to a call about a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

When they arrived, they found an elderly female lying in the road. A Ford pickup reportedly backed out of the driveway and struck the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman's daughter later identified her as Thelma Joy Hill, police said.

The vehicle that struck her was impounded as part of the investigation and the person who was driving it is cooperating with authorities, according to police.
