68-Year-Old Man Struck By Watercraft Driven By 18-Year-Old

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 68-year-old man is in the hospital after being struck by a watercraft driven by two teenage boys Saturday evening.

An 18-year-old male was operating the personal watercraft on Maple Lake and a 14-year-old boy was also on board. The watercraft struck Michael Lonn Martinson, who was swimming in the lake, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The watercraft was within 150 feet of shore and was unable to avoid Martinson, the sheriff's office said.

The swimmer was transported to Douglas County Hospital. He was in stable condition on Saturday.
