61-Year-Old Woman Severely Burned In Sherburne Co. Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 61-year-old woman is in the hospital with severe burns after a house fire in Sherburne County Monday.

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded at 3:31 p.m. to the residential fire at 16098 57th Street SE in Santiago Township. When deputies arrived, they found the home on fire with flames coming out of the roof.

Linda Bentley and her husband, 62-year-old Terry Bentley, escaped the residence, but Linda suffered severe burns across her body.

Both were treated on scene. Linda was taken by air to the Hennepin County Medical Center where she remains in the ICU burn unit.

Becker, Big Lake and Clear Lake fire departments fought the fire. The home was an entire loss.

The fire is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation unit of the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office and the state Fire Marshall.
