6-Year-Old Remembered By Friends And Family At Birthday Party, But Questions Linger

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Friends and family celebrated what would have been Kendrea Johnson's 7th birthday Saturday afternoon.

Johnson was found hanging from a jump rope in December, inside her foster home in Brooklyn Park. Police said the girl's death was either an accident, or suicide.

Loved ones say she was full of life, and will be missed.

Meanwhile, the state of Minnesota has revoked the foster agency's license while investigators look into Johnson's death. The Star Tribune reports the penalty could affect foster children in 69 other homes.

The family is trying to raise money for a headstone for Johnson's grave. If you would like to help out, the family has set up a GoFundMe page where you can donate.
