6-Year-Old Otsego Girl Hit By Bus In Fair Condition

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The young girl who was hit by a school bus in Otsego, Minn. on the last day of school has been listed in fair condition.

Keira Devens, 6, was hit Thursday shortly after she exited the bus.

It happened as the bus dropped students off at Padgett Avenue Northeast and 82nd Circle in Otsego.

According to neighbors, Devens dropped a few things while getting off the bus.

As she bent down to pick them up, the bus driver did not realize she wasn't across the street yet and began driving forward.

Neighbors said her parents had been waiting to pick her up and, when they saw what was about to happen, ran from their car to try and stop the bus driver.

Devens was bruised and cut but alert and talking Thursday evening.
