6 Firefighters Treated For Heat Exhaustion After Battling Motel Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Six firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion in Lakeville Sunday morning as they battled a fire at a motel.

The fire department there said crews were called to the Friendly Host on Kenrick Avenue just before 4 a.m.

About 50 firefighters from Lakeville, Apple Valley and Burnsville responded to the scene.

Three residents were treated for smoke inhalation, and 75 people were displaced, officials say.

The Red Cross is helping about 40 of the displaced people.

No cause for the fire was given.
