5K Reward Offered For Information On Bald Eagle Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A $5,000 reward is being offered for anyone with information on who shot and killed an American bald eagle in St. Croix County, according to the Humane Society of the United States.
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reported on March 17 a dead eagle was found on top of a pile of brush roughly 60 yards off the road near the intersection of 290th Street and Highway 64 in the town of Forest.
Later, it was confirmed that the eagle was killed by a bullet by the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust for anyone who has information that can lead them to who may have been involved in the shooting.
The bald eagle is a protected wild animal in Wisconsin. It is also illegal to pursue, show, shoot at, poison, wound, kill, capture, trap, collect or disturb bald eagles under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
