5 Injured In Cottonwood County 5-Vehicle Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says five people were injured – one seriously – in a crash involving five vehicles near Mountain Lake Wednesday afternoon.
According to the state patrol, a 1990 Chevy Silverado was traveling northbound on Cottonwood County Road 8 entering eastbound Highway 60 when it was broadsided by a Mazda 3. Two vehicles following the Mazda braked, but another vehicle did not and sideswiped one of the vehicles.
Drivers of three vehicles -- the 1990 Chevy Silverado , the Mazda 3 and a 2001 Chevy Silverado – were all taken to the Windom Hospital. The driver of the 1990 Chevy was later airlifted to Sanford Medical for serious injuries.
The seriously hurt victim has been identified as 23-year-old Harlan Franz of Mountain Lake, Minnesota.
Two passengers in the 2001 Chevy also suffered non-life threatening injuries.
