5 Best #VoteDozier Tweets

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The 2015 All Star Game takes place Tuesday night in Cincinnati and among the players on the roster is Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier.

This is Dozier's first time to the Midsummer Classic.

However, he wasn't the first choice.

After the rounds of fan voting, player voting and manager selection, Dozier was not among the 33 players headed to Ohio.

But he was up for the final vote, which, if you're unfamiliar, is decided by fans on the Internet.

For those who don't follow baseball, or abstain from all things social media related, the Interwebs were on fire in the Twin Cities Friday as fans and die-hard Minnesotans alike tweeted as many #VoteDozier hashtags as they could.

While Dozier did not win this either, he ultimately was selected to play in place of Toronto Blue Jays' Jose Bautista, who is out due to injury.

Dozier may have been added to the squad by a manager, but we believe it was a few of these tweets that helped make him an All-Star.
