4th Precinct Inspector On Paid Leave Pending Investigation
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Police inspector in charge of the city's 4th Precinct is on leave amid an investigation.
Chief Janée Harteau announced the change in a department-wide email Monday, saying Inspector Mike Friestleben has been placed on paid leave as authorities look into a "personnel matter." In the meantime, Harteau said Inspector Mike Kjos, formerly of the 1st Precinct, will take his place, while Lieutenant Erick Fors manages day-to-day operations at the 1st Precinct.
The department's 4th Precinct headquarters were the site of an embattled, 18-day "occupation" by Black Lives Matter protesters after police shot and killed Jamar Clark in November.
