42-Year-Old Man Dies After Losing Control On Motorcycle

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Another motorcyclist has been killed after a crash just before 10 p.m. Thursday night.

The crash happened on Interstate 94 at Dowling Avenue in Minneapolis.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a group of motorcycles were merging onto the interstate when one lost control. The driver, 42-year-old Patrick Rix of Duluth, was not wearing a helmet.

Officials say it's unclear whether alcohol or other substances were involved in the crash at this time.

The incident is still under investigation.

The State Patrol said this is a good reminder to all motorists to be extra cautious on the roads, as people can expect to start seeing more motorcycles.

On Wednesday, two motorcyclists were involved in another deadly accident.

Authorities say most of these kinds of accidents could've been avoided.
